I Can't Stop Reading About the 'Afterlife'
I'm reading about the 'afterlife' through a source that I trust. I say 'after' life because it looks like that place is actually where we came from before this life where we are living now, and so calling it 'after' life feels weird.
But why do I keep reading these books? Keep in mind that in the past I got really into researching NDE's (near death experiences) to the point of interviewing Dr. Eben Alexander (Harvard professor who had a vivid near death experience while in a medically induced coma).
Gonna nerd out a bit here.
According to these books, ALL the people who have passed away are trying to let their loved ones on Earth know this one thing: "I am closer to you than you can imagine."
They are all saying: "We are not dead, we are just not there physically anymore."
According to the book, every time we pray for someone who has passed away it gives them some support on their journey.
Isn't that interesting? The journey continues, this human life is not the end. It feels like this human life is a side quest for something else.
According to the book, we are all experiencing this human life with the intention of learning some lessons that will be beneficial to us in the 'afterlife'.
Ok so then, what is the purpose of life? To learn lessons in order to grow, progress, level up?
But for what? Are we trying to remember something?
And what could that something be?
This has actually already been answered by the deepest spiritual teachers: we are trying to remember our selves. Our TRUE self.
And my silly reply is: yeah but why?
To this I can't find an answer, and I have to accept that I most likely never will.
