Ground Yourself in the Present

There have been moments where the mind quiets on its own.

I remember sitting in a temple once,
when the gongs began to echo through the space.

The sound of the gongs dissolved my thoughts about future or past.

There was just that moment.

In that moment, there were no problems to solve.
No future to plan. No past to fix.
Only the vibration of the gong,
and the breath moving through me.

If you’ve never felt this, don’t worry.
It’s not a talent—
it’s a skill.
A remembering.

Find something simple today that brings you back to presence.
The way wind moves through leaves.
The way your feet feel on the ground.
Or maybe, just the sound of your own breath.

Eventually, you will get to the point where your daily life is automatically grounded in the present.

Read the book The Power of Now to have an idea of what this would look like.

This practice is yours to grow.
