What is the purpose of school?

It feels like a funnel.

What are we funneling children into?

Why are we testing their memorization of random subjects, and then judging the children's value based on the things they have memorized?

Are we empowering kids or teaching them how to judge themselves and others?

Who created this "school" game, and how often is it updated? What is the intention of its existence?

I'm still unlearning the habit of judging myself.
