ChatGPT increases my MoneyEQ
Ken Honda’s concept of Money EQ (Emotional Intelligence) revolves around cultivating a harmonious, abundant, and joyful relationship with money rather than one driven by fear, guilt, or scarcity. Here are some powerful self-reflection questions to help you increase your Money EQ:
1. Awareness of Your Money Story
- What are the core beliefs I have about money, and where did they come from?
Right now, I believe that money is some kind of energy. I got this from the Ken Honda book Happy Money.
- How did my parents and caregivers talk about and handle money when I was growing up?
My mom saw money as something that was scarce, and we rarely even bought candy at the store when I was a kid. My dad spent money more freely.
- Do I see money as a source of stress or a source of peace? Why?
Money now feels like a reflection of my internal state. And at the moment, I feel peaceful towards money although now fully abundant yet.
- How do I emotionally react when I receive money? When I spend it?
I feel a bit neutral about it. I think I should be more grateful.
2. Emotional Connection with Money
- Do I feel joy, gratitude, or fear when dealing with money? Why?
I haven't been consistent. It's usually been a mix of joy and gratitude. Sometimes I'm neutral. Fear might sometimes creep in. It depends on how I am feeling that day.
- How do I respond to financial uncertainty? Does it trigger any childhood wounds?
If I am in in Vietnam, I tend to feel financial certainty. In America however, it could flip into financial uncertainty. It triggers a wound that says: 'you are not meant to have financial certainty'.
- Do I feel worthy of financial abundance? If not, what’s blocking me?
Yes I do!
- What emotions come up when I see someone with a lot of money?
I usually feel pretty neutral, but only because now I know that money doesn't produce long term happiness.
3. Shifting to a Zen Relationship with Money
- How can I welcome money as a friend rather than a source of stress?
I can call money my 'bro' :)
- If money were a person, how would I describe my relationship with it?
At the moment money feels like a playful genie, and we are friends because we take care of each other.
- What would change if I saw money as energy that flows rather than something I must control?
Then it feels like renewable energy :) And it feels like it is something that I can encourage to flow in my direction, without having to worry about capturing all of it. Imagine trying to capture all the wind around you, it's impossible, yet wind energy is still a real thing that is used.
- How can I practice gratitude with every financial exchange I make?
Maybe I should find a playful way to express gratitude. Like saying "arigato!" :)
4. Giving and Receiving Money with Ease
- Do I struggle more with receiving or giving money? Why?
At the moment I struggle more with receiving money, because I have this tendency of thinking that I should not bother people (and my brain thinks that receiving someone's money is a way of bothering them).
- How can I give money in a way that brings joy and fulfillment?
To be totally detached from that money, and to see it as a tool for manifestation that is being gifted towards someone.
- How do I react when someone offers me money or financial help?
I have gotten better at accepting, and asking for financial help. I feel grateful for it now.
- What would it feel like to trust that there is always enough?
It would feel abundant, it would feel peaceful.
5. Taking Inspired Action Toward Wealth
- What actions can I take today to welcome more financial abundance into my life?
To know exactly what I don't wish to spend on.
- How can I align my financial decisions with my values and joy?
Knowing the value of something but not getting attached.
- What does financial freedom mean to me on an emotional and spiritual level?
It means that it feels like nothing is missing.
- How can I infuse more love and appreciation into my money habits?
Only use it to empower growth and healing
